December-Christmas Scene

The Christmas scene I wanted to capture a home scene and wanted to concentrate on lighting to make sure the room felt welcoming and warm. (Mainly coming from the fireplace.)
I used mainly simple objects to create more detailed pecies, I skinned using jpgs for the walls and carpet. I made the window using the boolean tool, cutting out a block section.

I made sure there was a bright yellow light radiating from the fireplace, as well as a small light from the lampshade. (which I made transparent, to let more light fill the room.)

This was my final near finished peace, I felt that It was missing a few elements to make it complete. I needed to add photos and a rug to make it seem more homely.

This is the finished and final piece, I added an image to the frame and skinned a plane for the rug on the floor. Overall the image looks exactly how I wanted it too, the users eyes are drawn to the fireplace and it makes you feel warm and cosy.

You can also see snow outside the window, with the combination of the Christmas tree and presents it makes it defiantly feel like Christmas. I would have liked to have added tinsel to the image but found it very difficult to make and it ruined the image so I left it out.

I think the Christmas scene has to be one of your best images. Looking at the image it looks pretty realistic. I especially like the detail in and around the fire place.
